Training of Teachers in IT Helpdesk Attendant and Vocational Pedagogy for Eastern Region (PAC Code 14.25) was organised at PSSCIVE, NCERT, Bhopal from 4 to 8 December, 2017. Twenty Seven (27) vocational teachers from the states of Odisha and Jharkhand have attended the programme. In this one week training programme the participants were acquainted with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) scheme of vocational education, Sector Skill Council (SSC), Job roles under IT/ITES SSC, National Occupation Standards (NOS), Qualification Pack (QP) and Model Curriculum of SSC. The coordinator also shared the topics from Vocational Pedagogy such as Roles of Vocational Teachers, Teaching-Learning and Assessment Methods in Vocational Education, Preparation of Session Plan. The demonstration as well as practical training was also given on the topics from the curriculum such as Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Internet, Searching techniques, Database application, Networking and Web Designing. The topics on recent trends in IT/ITeS such as Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence were also discussed. Pre-test was conducted on the first day and the Post-test was conducted on the last day of the programme. Assignments and questions were given to teachers for homework. The technical sessions were taken by the coordinators Dr. Dipak D. Shudhalwar, and the Resource Persons Prof. Prakash Khanale, Dr. Priti Maheshwari, Dr. Manu Pratap Singh and Dr. Ganesh Kumar Dixit. The programme was inagurated by the Joint Director Prof. Rajesh Khambayat. Prof. Saurabh Prakash, Head, DET was also present. He welcomed all the participants. In his speech he has inspired the participatnts towards the role of vocational teachers. He urged to improve the knowledge and skills through lifelong learning. In the valedictory session, the Joint Director shared the principles of teaching-learning, blooms taxonomy of learning and motivate the participants towards improving the teaching-learning process. He appreciated the concept of on-line pre-test and post-test with the help of google form. It is expected that the trained teachers will share their knowledge and skill with their students and companion teachers. The feedback from the participants was obtained and appreciated. Prof. Saurabh Praksh aslo urged the participants to perform better and try to achive the competency in any one of the area in IT. The program ends with the vote of thanks by Prof. Prakash Khanale with inspiring thoughts.
