The Institute is located in Bhopal, which is popularly known as city of lakes of Madhya Pradesh.

The Institute primary role is to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on the policies and programmes for qualitative improvement in Vocational Education and Training. The Institute is instrumental in the development of curricula, production of instructional materials and dissemination of research, case studies, databases, publications, and also functions as a clearinghouse.

Advancing VET is one of the key pillars to sustainable development due to its effective role in building capable people equipped with the necessary skills. With this in mind, the PSSCIVE top priority will always be to continuously strengthen and reinforce this system. Responding to the need to improve the quality of vocational education and training, PSSCIVE has evolved as a Centre of Excellence for Vocational Teachers' Education and Training, and steadfast in achieving its vision to be the leading VET organization in the emerging knowledge economy.

PSSCIVE is also one of the leading UNEVOC Network Centre of UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre at Bonn, Germany. Through the Network, the Institute shares knowledge and experiences related to all aspects of TVET, including exchanging country experiences. Adapting to the fast changing needs of the regional states, the Institute provides leadership by designing and conducting various programmes and courses at different levels.

The Institute fortifies its role in capacity building in the 21st Century, as PSSCIVE strongly advocates Quality Vocational Education and Training across national borders. To achieve our mission, PSSCIVE will continue to build strategic partnerships with government and private institutions to ensure vocational educational development which enables the youth to successfully contribute to the economic and social advancement of the country. We invite Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, international and regional partner Institutions and all our stakeholders to extend their support to the institutional activities.

The Institute website has been recently updated and modified to serve as a medium for convergence and exchange of ideas, information, events and updates on national and regional efforts, as well as innovating strategies for the 21st Century Workforce development. This website will serve as a window to rich information resource base and initiatives in VET, teacher education and related areas. It will also serve to strengthen collaborative relationships among professionals and developers, institutional partners, affiliates and networks, alumni and future clients in the global community.

We hope our activities and programmes will inspire all partners and patrons to engage with us and continuously enhance our educational services, leading to excellence and innovations in the field of VET.
