Curriculum Development & Evaluation Centre (CDEC)


The Curriculum Development and Evaluation Centre, established at PSSCIVE in 2012, coordinates the activities of development, evaluation and vetting of curricula and courseware for the vocational subjects in schools under the National Vocational Education Qualifications Framework (NVEQF), now known as National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). The centre has designed and developed competency based curricula and teaching-learning modules. It has coordinated the activities for development of more than 100 curricula and 200 teaching-learning modules. In July 2013, a separate NVEQF Cell was established to serve as a national resource centre for coordinating various activities between the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) and States/UTs implementing Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Vocationalisation of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. The Cell was later renamed as NSQF Cell.

  1. Develop guidelines on various aspects of implementation of vocationalisation of secondary and higher secondary education, including training and assessment
  2. Act as a clearinghouse for ideas and information in matters related to vocational education and training
  3. Designing and developing competency based curricula
  4. Developing teaching-learning materials (print and non-print)
  5. Developing assessment tools
  6. Developing e-learning materials
  7. Developing publicity materials for popularization of vocational subjects
